The start of October is shaping up to be an interesting one! The Alps will go from a strong föhn situation with high temperatures to more cooler conditions. During the weekend the weather remains warm in the Northern Alps because of the föhn, but in the course of Sunday evening a cold front will approach from the west. Cooler and moist air will reach the Northwest Alps, making it possible to expect snow in the higher regions. Just where and how much snowfall is still yet to be seen! The weather models are not in agreement which will make for an interesting week! Both the north and south side of the Alps could see anything from 5cm’s to 1metre! The timing and location of the energy will determine which areas receive the most snow!
